Students: Solutions Are Within Reach
The JPS/STARS Teen
Summit is an opportunity for youth to
learn about solutions to the critical community, school and family
issues
impacting them and their peers. Prior to the JPS/STARS Teen Summit, one
hundred
and sixty-three (163) students (41% males and 59% females) from seven of
eight
high schools in Jackson, Mississippi were asked to take part in an
opinion poll
involving them and their peers that live in the Jackson, Mississippi
area.
Fifteen percent of the students selected for the poll were identified as
participants in the JPS/STARS summit and eighty-five percent of the
students
were randomly selected by teachers and school administrators. Read More >

Annual Teen Summit is an opportunity for youth to learn
